Meet The Maker

Mainly self-taught through years of study I’m proud to say my art was born over years of hard work, curious research and countless hours practicing and practicing with the zeal that my immigrant parents threw into becoming American proud citizens.

Growing up with parents from Spain and Cuba who fled their dear island , I grew up in the United States but with the daily influence of the Cuban lifestyle. There was barely a television played by either parent, daily focus being always on music, dance and get together with family and friends and…food. Lots of food. If I could sum up my take-away about what life has taught to me by my parents and my culture, it would be love and passion.

Passion for life, people and beauty in the simple things was my takeaway, the gift my parents gave me. It’s with this same zeal that runs in in my family that I treat my work. The moment I enter my studio my soul opens up and smiles and when I sit down at my bench I’m where i should be. Practicing and always striving to learn more about the time-honored techniques that encompass the art of metalsmithing…

Hammer, file, torch and saw… I’m honored to make pieces that hopefully will make your should smile too!
